All my hope on God is founded Lyrics (by Olive Anne)
a skeletal corpse lies limp in front of me but i can rest assured that i won’t be blamed, it was everybody else, they were apathetic sinners, i was always on my knees, i was always praying. there’s nothing on my mind and my conscience is clear cos all my hope on god is founded, no space in my heart for the sick or the dying but i’ll be present when that funeral bell is sounded. ring ring ring comes the sound of passivity, the music resonates in my gaping moral cavity, from the lord comes deliverance to those in hard times and what’s the good will of a mortal against that of the divine? lifeless eyes stare into space sunken deeper in her head than the saviour’s love, i wish we could have done more but we prayed for her soul so thanks to us she has ascended to the heavens above. we hold a sermon for the poor and the starving twice a week and we get money donated to the church, it’s spent on lead for the roof and stained glass windows to make it a much better place of worship. its been suggested i give the money to a charity, i've been advised to go abroad to help the poor but my time is better spent saying grace to the lord because the lord will help these people much more. i've no faith in the good will of mankind because all my hope on god is founded, no space in my heart for the sick or the dying but i’ll be present when that funeral bell is sounded.
